Why Body Cleanse?
Why Body Cleanse or Body Detox? The foods we eat and toxins from our environment are affecting our health in many ways. We have all become so used to the different chemicals in our food, water and environment that we don’t even realize the effect it may be having on our health.
If you suffer from allergies, skin rashes, stomach problems or even being overweight, the cause may lie in what you eat or drink, what you breathe in and certain lifestyle choices.
Some people may not be bothered by this and simply take a pill to deal with these health problems. But if you are tired of covering up your symptoms with more chemicals and you want to rid yourself of these problems once and for all, your first step should be a body cleanse.
Why Body Cleanse? The Evidence is Clear
Did you know that in 2006 WHO (The World Health Organization) reported that nearly 1/4 of global disease is caused by exposure to environmental toxins? They also stated that "Well targeted intervention can prevent much of this environmental risk".
The Human Toxome Project, a collaboration of two health and research associations, the Environmental Working Group (Washington D.C.) and Commonweal (Bolinas, California), was set up to examine environmental contaminants and its links to genetics and disease. They collected blood, urine, breast milk and other human tissues of volunteers to test for industrial chemicals that enter the body through food, air, water, or from ingredients in everyday consumer products.
Their research uncovered shocking results.
The blood and urine of the 75 adults who participated contained 358-434 of 531 industrial compounds, pollutants and other chemicals tested, including chemicals linked to birth defects and developmental delays, brain and nervous system toxicity, reproductive toxicity and fertility problems as well as cancer.
When the breast milk of 20 participants was examined, all contained varying amounts of flame retardants amongst other contaminants.
Most disturbing was the study in which they tested the umbilical cord blood of 10 newborns and found they contained over 100 and sometimes over 200 chemicals of the 395 to 413 chemicals tested, a number of which are linked to birth defects, developmental delays, brain and nervous system toxicity and cancer.
These toxins are passed on to offspring through sperm or to a developing fetus through the mother's blood.
In addition, some studies document persistent pesticides stored in fatty tissue for years and in some cases for decades!
Our bodies were made to be able to remove toxins, but even the healthiest body can become overwhelmed with the amount of dangerous waste products that need to be removed.

Take Responsibility for Your Health Now
There are a number of steps you can take right now to take responsibility for your health and that of your family's.

avoid toxins in your toiletries
as your body absorbs the products you put on it.
4. Avoid
toxins in your cleaning products
Their toxic chemicals can enter your body through your skin and through breathing in their fumes.
5. There are also
indoor environmental toxins
to avoid by making the changes that you are able to. Some are more expensive than others
Doing what you can is better than doing nothing at all.
I think it's also important to understand that when we purchase and use toxic products, whatever they may be, the result is that a
lot of these end up in our water, air, or garbage dumps, perpetuating the problem. We all need to do our part in creating a toxin free world for ourselves and for future generations.
